The 5 Most Common Mistakes Homebuyers Make

Not having a "top" buyers' agent representing you.
Not all agents are alike. You want a full time top producing agent familiar with the area where you're looking, who won't use high pressure tactics to "Just Make a Sale".

Not being pre-approved with the right loan for your specific situation.
Being pre-approved for the right loan can save you time and money, increase your purchasing power, and put you in the strongest bargaining position.

Substituting the opinions of friends and family for those of professonals.
It feels great to have those who care about us trying to look out for our best interests but often those with even the best of intentions can lead you to make a costly mistake. Would you value the opinion of your loved ones over those of your doctor...lawyer...? Hire a professional you trust and who can guide you through the whole process.

Putting the value of club discounts, frequent flier miles, etc. over the value of having a great agent, you truly get what you pay for!
A professional agent saves you money! Often more money than what you would have saved by using just "any" agent from a referral program. The Kristof Realty Group does not accept referrals from those programs, like most top agents, we will not give up a third of our commission to a referral program in order to meet clients. We are full-time professionals who earn and deserve our full commission.

Having unreasonable expectations.
We've all heard the stories of how someone got this fantastic deal, or found the "perfect" house where they will live for the rest of their lives. However, this is the exception and not the rule--If you have reasonable expectations for the amount of money you are willing to spend, then you will find the homebuying process less frustrating and less time consuming.
