Top Mistakes Sellers Make

Listing with an agent just because they give you the highest list price.
As a seller you should be more concerned with which agent gets you the highest sales price (the money in your pocket), than the agent that only promises the highest list price. The highest sales price is attained through extensive marketing and professional presentation of your home to reach and impress as wide of an audience of qualified buyers as possible.

Listing with an agent because they have the cheapest commission.
In real estate, "you get what you pay for", is a truism. Having a top-producing agent who offers extensive (and expensive) marketing and professional presentation of your listing is offering these services to get you more, better and higher offers for your property. So is this "bargain agent" worth it? Is saving a couple thousand dollars on the commission worth losing up to tens of thousands of dollars on the sales price of your home?

Substituting the opinions of friends and family for those of professionals.
It feels great to have those who care about us trying to look out for our best interests, but often times those with even the best intentions can lead you to make a costly mistake. Would you value the opinion of your loved ones over those of your doctor...lawyer...? Hire a professional you trust who can guide you through the whole process.
